Twice the Cord Confusion

The Dual Chords Tab: Because One Chord Wasn't Confusing Enough

Yo, so this lil' tab lets you enable & configure secondary chords that hang out next to your primary chords on screen. Totes useful if you're sharin' a chart with someone rockin' a capo, or if you're tryna learn some fancy numbering system like a music theory nerd (no shade, we're all nerds here).

Position

Wanna flex your dual chord powers? Pick where that secondary chord's gonna chill — before or after the main event.

  • Off — the secondary chord is just chillin' in the sidelines, not enabled. This is the default because we're lazy.
  • First — secondary chord shows up before the primary chord & steals its thunder.
  • Last — secondary chord comes after, like the opening act nobody remembers.

Font Style

Make your secondary chord look all different & fancy compared to the boring primary chord (which is the default, srsly). Wanna change the font color? Make it bold? Italicize it like you're writin' Shakespeare? Go for it. When nothin's checked, it just copies the primary chord's vibe & gives up, like we all do.

Highlight Color

Change up the highlight color of that secondary chord so it's not just a copy-paste of the primary one. By default, nothin' is checked, so it just steals the primary chord's color & calls it a day. Tap any swatch that's already checked to uncheck it & watch it slink back to default like a puppy who chewed your shoe.

Type

Pick what kinda chord shows as the secondary. We got OPTIONS, y'all:

  • Capo — shows the capoed version of the primary chord, modulatin' it from the transposed chord if you actually enabled the capo thing. Default.
  • Original — shows the chord that was originally scribbled on the song when it got uploaded. You know, before someone messed with it.
  • Transposed — shows the transposed chord by takin' the original & shiftin' it accordin' to your transposed key setting. Math!
  • Numeric — shows the chord usin' the Nashville numberin' system, spillin' the chord interval within the key as an arabic numeral (1-6). So fancy.
  • Roman — shows the chord usin' Roman numerals as the chord interval within the key. I through VI, baby.
  • Solfege — shows the chord usin' do-re-mi nomenclature relative to the chord interval within the key. For all you music school graduates flexin' on us.

Decoration

Wrap that chord in some text so people can actually see it without squintin' at their phone like they lost their glasses. Options:

  • None — nothin' selected. Default. Boring.
  • [ ] — wraps the chord in square brackets. Practical.
  • ( ) — wraps the chord in parentheses. Classic.
  • < > — wraps the chord in angle brackets. Edgy.
  • { } — wraps the chord in curly braces. For the programmers in the room.
